One farmhouse, two treehouses and 2,000 trees

We tried to answer these childhood questions using our orange grove, which has a 350-year history. We started by planting 1,000 exotic Paulownia trees, creating a “small forest” just a few kilometres from the Archaeological Museum of Elis and 46 kilometres from the world-famous Archaeological Site of Olympia.
Then came the renovation of the estate’s beautiful farmhouse (Hilary’s house), originally built by our parents. This was followed by the construction of two wooden treehouses, one small and one larger. The smaller Irene’s treehouse is a cosy nest for lovebirds, while the larger Barba Thanasis’ treehouse is an ideal shelter for families or groups of friends.
Here, tranquillity meets nature in a relaxed environment that sets all your senses free.
Our hospitality is not limited to providing accommodation, nor to the narrow confines of a hotel service.

The Story
Orangia Farm is a new agritourism business, hosted in our family’s orange grove, in Lefkochori, Ilia.
Its 50,000 sq.m. have been family property since the 18th century.
Get to know our area
The area around the farm offers various possibilities for outdoor activities depending on the time of the year. In the summer months the obvious and most satisfactory choice is the sea. One of Greece’s famous beaches is situated at only 10 kilometers from the farm. The beach is hundreds of kilometers long and is embellished with dunes and pine trees. A dive in its crystal-clear waters will make you leave long winters behind and delve into the bliss of endless Greek summers. The number of beaches at a short drive from the farm is literally endless and transfer can be arranged. .
A keen hiker and cyclist himself, Antonis will be happy to advise or escort mountain-lovers to the beautiful nearby forests and waterfalls.
The area is teeming with classical, medieval and neoclassical buildings for those wishing to explore the glorious Greek past. The ruins of Ancient Olympia and famous Byzantine chapels are but a few of the sighs in the surrounding areas. For the so-inclined, qualified experts will give you lectures and tours on history, archaeology and the natural surroundings.
Plays, dance shows and festivals take place on certain times of the year and receive great attention.
Irene offers Greek cooking lessons where you can cook with -and obviously get a taste of- products produced either in the farm itself or by our neighbours.
The area is famous for its wines, so if you happen to visit us during autumn you can participate in the grape harvesting –and learn about the process of transforming grape into wine in local selected wineries. Our farm is at its best in winter, especially between the end of November and December as its one and a half thousand oranges are ripe and ready to be collected. Feel free to participate in the harvesting and taste as many oranges as you can. The avocados are in season and those of you staying in the tree-house built on top of them can literally reach out and pick avocados from the house’s patio.
Those of you who happen to visit us during the olive harvesting, will get to experience a century-old Greek practice. You are invited to participate in the harvesting, follow the crop’s course to the local original pressing and taste the fresh olive oil – an opportunity not to be missed.
